Mover FAQ
- You must be at least 18 years of age, able to lift and carry up to 150 pounds safely, and have reliable transportation.
- No. We train all new movers through Scruffy City's structured onboarding and and captains through leadership development program.
- Currently part-time. As our customer base grows, opportunities for full-time hours will present themselves. If you are a mover with us looking for additional hours in the meantime, speak with the operations manager—there may be other areas where you can contribute.
- Payment is made to a standard bank account once a week.
- Weekly.
- You can find a replacement to fill your spot and get off a job with no penalty.
- Advancement is based on performance, leadership readiness, and training completion. Many movers show leadership potential and qualify for promotion within their first few months.

- Most jobs are within a 45-minute drive if you live in Knoxville or close by. Occasionally, jobs are an hour or more away from Knoxville. Teammates often carpool for longer jobs.
- Yes. Entry-level workers earn a modest hourly rate but can significantly increase their income through tips and fast promotions. Many earn their first raise by the end of their second worked job.
- Your pay starts when the job starts. For multi-location jobs, you are paid for travel time between locations.
- Yes. You set your availability. As long as you keep your schedule updated, we will work around your commitments.
