I contacted multiple companies and took multiple estimates before making my decision to use Scruffy City. From the first time I spoke with Stephen, he was professional, prompt, and very communicative, while at the same time, not in any way, pushy like a few other companies were. The rates of service for our move were cheaper than most others quoted. Our move was particularly challenging, as it involved an overnight layover between when the truck was packed the day before we closed, and unpacked the next day after we closed on our new house. Trying to figure out how we were going to pack our home and have nowhere to unload it until after we took possession of our new home was very stressful to me, but Stephen reassured me that they could accommodate my needs. Further, he sent me a video showing how they pack furniture. I have been collecting multiple antique mid-century modern pieces which are relatively valuable, This reassured me that scruffy city was the way to go. On the loading day, Stephen and his crew, Chase, Jaiden, and Elija, arrived punctually. These young men worked hard wrapping and protecting my furniture. What really impressed me was that Stephen wasn’t just a guy in an office, but he was there leading his team, coaching them, checking their work along the way, and working as hard as they were to ensure the job was done well. While one of the movers did not see the value in an old shabby Adrian Pearsall couch in bad need of r exurbia hung, he cared for it as though it were priceless. In fact, the crew cared for my cheap KARM furniture as well as they did the high end items. The next day my closing ran a little late. When I got to my new house, I found Stephen and his team there. They had proactively been using their time and already had a lot of stuff unloaded. It was Halloween, but they all stayed until the job was done to my satisfaction. Score the move, my husband and I had rented a small storage unit to house some of our more fragile or expensive pieces of art or furniture because we had never used a moving service before and, frankly, we didn’t trust anyone else to do it. After seeing the care and professionalism demonstrated by Scruffy City, we could have saved purses the money and effort and had them handle it all. I highly recommend Scruffy City Movers! They moved my antique baby grand piano after I called them up in a panic because I needed it moved ASAP. They handled and cared for it extremely carefully...well padded and wrapped, and set it up perfectly at it's new home. Stephen, Jaiden, and Elijah were quick, careful and reliable.
